Everybody is different. Adapted Sports Clinics are for those who learn new skills differently. They may not understand ideas that others learn easily due to a mental, physical, developmental or other special need. In this program, traditional sports will be adapted to meet the needs of each individual participant. Our Athletes are children and adults from all around the River Region. They are finding success joy and friendship as part of our community. They’re also having a lot of fun.
The Field of Dreams at the Prattville YMCA Bradford Branch
An ADA Accessible Baseball Field
The Field of Dreams and Ability Sports removes the barriers that keep children with mental and physical disabilities off the baseball field and out of the gym and lets them experience the joys of America’s favorite pastimes. Participants that play on the field, play on a custom designed rubberized turf field that accommodates wheelchairs and other assistive devices while helping to prevent injuries. The Field of Dreams and Ability Sports are not just about the sport. It is about making new friends, building self-esteem, learning independence and being treated like any other athlete. The league serves children and adults who suffer from any physical or mental disability that causes them to be excluded from traditional leagues.
Ages 5 and up. We have players as old as 65 participate.

Gymnastics is perhaps one of the most comprehensive “lifestyle exercise programs” available to children, incorporating strength, flexibility, speed, balance, coordination, power and discipline. The Y offers the most comprehensive gymnastics programs available to your child. We pride ourselves on teaching our participants important character development traits while they enjoy the fun and health benefits that the sport of gymnastics provides. Our class program consists of 4 levels of progressive skills (Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum) for boys and girls. Classes are continuous re-enrollment for September-May.
Our advanced & tumbling classes are held at our Don M. Smith Branch location. Our regular Boys’ & Girls’ classes are located at our new Gymnastics Center, formerly the Wellness Branch.
